A Ridgewood, N.J. product, Albano helped Springfield go 2-1 on the week and clinch the top-seed in the upcoming Pilgrim Lacrosse League Tournament.
For the week, the senior goalie owned a goal against average of 6.53 and had a save percentage of 63.2% as the Pride played three games last week. In SC’s 24-3 win over Norwich, Albano played 30 minutes in goal, allowing one goal and posting four saves. In Friday’s loss to city-rival Western New England, Albano kept the Pride in the game as he tallied 13 saves. In his final regular season home game on Saturday, Albano recorded seven saves in goal and held MIT off the scoreboard for over 38 minutes.
Albano is in the midst of one of the greatest single seasons a goalkeeper has had in a Springfield uniform. He has an overall goal against average of 6.70 this year, slightly better than the all-time mark of 7.05 set by Jeremy Platt in 200. Even more impressive, Albano owns an unheard of goal against average of 1.64 in league play to go along with a .863 save percentage.
