Emil Occhiboi: Men's Track and Field

Emil Occhiboi of Brookfield, Conn. has been named this week's Male Maroon Club Athlete of tthe Week. Like his team, Occhiboi competed in the Springfield Invitational this past Saturday (April 18) at Blake Track. Springfield finished third of 12 teams with 98.50 points, behind only MIT (199.50) and Westfield State (129).

A sophomore, Occhiboi finished first in the high jump at the Invitational with a leap of 1.86 meters.

"Emil has come a long way in a short time," said his head coach, Ken Klatka, noting that Emil did not compete during the indoor season. "I'm pleased with his progress."

Emil also finished ninth in the triple jump (11.89 meters).
