


Cooney had a pair of terrific individual performances that garnered her NEWMAC All-Conference First Team honors. Her winning time of 1:01.14 in the 100 backstroke automatically qualified her for the NCAA Championships and earned her all-conference first team honors, as did her time of 2:04.37 in the 200 backstroke. Cooney was also a member of the winning 200 medley relay that touched in 1:45.70, meeting NCAA 'B' cut standards. She was also named to the all-conference first team for her efforts on that relay team.
The Hershey, Pa. native earned NEWMAC All-Conference Second Team Honors in the 200 IM as well after she finished second in 2:09.74. Her time met NCAA Championship 'B' cut standards.
