A native of Norwich, Conn., Turgeon made the most of his at bats and pitches for the Pride this week.
In Springfield's 5-1 win over Clark on Saturday, the senior righthander hurled his best game of the season, raising his record to 2-0. He allowed four hits and no earned runs, while striking out one and walking one in six full innings.
At the plate, Turgeon batted .600 as it appeared in two other games for the Pride during the week. As SC's designated hitter against the ECSU Warriors, then the top-ranked team in the country, Turgeon had a pair of singles, drove in a run, and recorded a walk. In a 10-4 loss to MIT of Friday, Turgeon went 1-3 with a run scored for SC.
