Regan Denham Named Head Women's Lacrosse Coach

Regan Denham, most recently of Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, has been named Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach as well as an Assistant Professor of Physical Education at Springfield College, according to Springfield’s Director of Athletics Cathie Schweitzer.

Five Women's Lacrosse Student-Athletes Named to NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team
Springfield Mass. – May 7, 2008 – The New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference announced the Academic All-Conference Teams for women's lacrosse on Wednesday afternoon and the Pride landed five Springfield student-athletes on the all-academic squad.

Women's Lacrosse Falls To Wellesley, 10-7, In NEWMAC Semifinals
BABSON PARK, Mass. – May 3, 2008 –Third-seeded Wellesley College used a 6-1 run in the first half to build a four-goal lead and junior goalie Kristin Jaronczyk (Manhasset, N.Y.) made 10 saves in net as the Blue defeated second-seeded Springfield College, 10-7, in the semifinals of the 2008 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Lacrosse Tournament at Babson's MacDowell Field on Saturday afternoon.

Springfield College has become one of the top Division III women’s lacrosse programs in New England. The Pride has posted 10-or-more wins in each of the last eight seasons, including 2008, and has reached the post-season in four of the last seven years. The program is certainly moving in the right direction.
Springfield College recorded identical 12-6 marks in 2005 and 2006, each year winning the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) post-season championship, thus earning a berth into the NCAA Division III championship. SC has won three NEWMAC tournaments in the last seven years (2002, 2005, and 2006). It also appeared in the NEWMAC title game in 2001, 2003, and 2004.
Taking the reins in her inaugural year on the sidelines for the Pride, first-year head coach
Regan Downton Denham looks to take the Pride to new heights. Denham will head up a Springfield squad that went 10-7 last season and reached the semifinals of the NEWMAC Tournament.

Rachel Lampros, and
Meghan Wissell were all named NEWMAC All-First Team.
Meagan Dobson was named NEWMAC All-Second Team. Bazzano, Lampros, and Wissell, along with
Julia Kincade and
Hannah Rohner were all named NEWMAC All-Academic. Lampros was also named Second Team IWLCA All-Berkshire Region.
