MIT Tops Women's Tennis, 7-2, In Season-Opener
Springfield, Mass. - September 12, 2009 - The Springfield College women's tennis team battled against conference powerhouse MIT on Saturday before falling, 7-2, at Appleton Courts.The match marked the first under new head coach, Tim Losee.Springfield had two terrific showings from a pair of freshmen with Sam Carney leading the way. In her first collegiate match, Carney won at No. 4 singles by the scores of 6-0, 6-1. Classmate Erin Woodbury also had success at No. 5 singles as she won 6-3, 6-2. Vanessa Senecal nearly pulled off the Pride's third win at No. 6 singles after winning the first set 6-4, but Senecal eventually lost the second set and the tiebreaker.

Head Coach Tim Losee
Tim Losee ’05, G’07 was named the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College in August of 2009. A former four-year member of Springfield’s men’s tennis team, Losee returns to his alma mater to pilot both the men’s and women’s tennis programs. Read more.
