

Springfield, Mass. - February 23, 2009 - Both the Springfield College men's and women's basketball teams will be hosting a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament Quarterfinal game on Wednesday. The women's team, which enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed, will host No. 6 Wellesley at 5:30 pm in Blake Arena. The men's team, which won its final three conference games, sits as the No. 4 seed and will challege No. 5 Clark at 7:30 in the second game of the twin bill on Wednesday.
Admission to the events will be $4.00 for adults, $2.00 for seniors, $1.00 for students, and children under 12 free.
Entering her 19th season as head coach in 2009-10, Naomi Graves has directed her squads to an impressive 266-117 record (.695 winning percentage) since joining the Division III ranks in 1995. Graves has led the Pride to eleven post-season bids in the past 14 years, including five berths in the NCAA Division III Tournament in the past nine years.
