

Marietta, Ohio - May 21, 2009 - Springfield College's 4x100 relay team of Matt Amendola, Tom Brognano, Nickel Hay, and Steve Headley ran a time of 41.47 in the prelims, while Headley placed third in the 200 meter prelims, as both advanced on Thursday afternoon to Saturday's finals at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Marietta College.Of the eight teams to advance to the finals, the Pride clocked in with the seventh fastest time of the afternoon, a 41.47. The team from Methodist University ran the fastest time of the prelims, a 40.81. The Pride will run in the finals on Saturday at 1:00 pm in lane eight.
The team had qualified with the sixth fastest time in the country, a 41.27, that was reached on May 9th at the New England Championships.
As for Headley, the junior ran the third fastest time in the 200 prelims with a time of 21.37. Eric Woodruff of Moravian ran the fastest time of 21.29, while Hanneus Ollison from McMurry University ran a 21.36. Headley will run in lane 3 of the 200 championship final on Saturday at 3:35 pm.
