Griffin Leads Men's Cross Country To Strong Showing at Open New England's

Mike Griffin Boston, Mass. - October 11, 2008 - On Saturday afternoon, the Springfield College men’s cross country team raced at the Open New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston. In a race comprised of student athletes from Division I, II, and III institutions, the Pride finished 27th out of 47 teams.

Leading the way for Springfield in race was Mike Griffin, who crossed the finish line in 25:52, good enough for 68th overall. Behind DiPaolo was Brian Fuller, who crossed the finish line in 80th place in 26:02.

David Birdsall was the next member of the squad to finish as he registered a time of 26:48. Mike Decrescenzo finished in 196th as he ran the course in a time 27:13. Rounding out the Pride’s runners that scored in the race was Kyle Moriarty, who ran a time of 27:20.

Next weekend, the Pride will travel west to race in the UAlbany Invitational.
