

Bristol, R.I. – November 8, 2008 – John DeVaney (Albany, N.Y.) and Matt Geanacopoulos (Ludlow, Mass.) were the top finishers for the Springfield College Pride at the 2008 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Cross Country Championships held at Colt State Park.The Pride finished in 17th place with 549 points in the 48 team field. Williams College earned the overall crown finishing with 64 points followed by Keene State (100) and Middlebury (144). St. Vincent College’s (Pa.) Adam Smith took first place in a time of 26:18. The Pride’s junior duo of DeVaney and Geanacopoulos both finished in 28:27, followed by sophomore Troy French (Antrim, N.H.) who crossed the line in 29:04, with junior Steve Creamer finishing in 29:36.
Springfield next competes at the NCAA Div. III New England Regionals hosted by Williams College in Williamstown, Mass. on Saturday, November 15th.
Peter Ferraro, a 2007 graduate of Springfield College, enters his third season at the helm of men's cross country team at his alma mater in the fall of 2009.
