Golf Ties For Ninth Place At Lou Flumere Massachusetts Intercollegiate

Greg Levings Stow, Mass. - April 8, 2009 - Led by senior Greg Levings, the Springfield College golf team finished tied for ninth at the Lou Flumere Massachusetts Intercollegiate one-day championship held today at Stow Acres CC.

Salem State won the competition with a 302, out-lasting runner-up Nichols College by a dozen strokes as the 20-school field played in cold and snowy conditions.

SC finished tied for ninth with Boston University as it fired a 332 for the day. Levings paced the Pride with a 79 (+7) as he finished in a tie for 16th. Mike LaJoie finished with an 81 on the day, while teammate Craig DiFranco scored an 85 on the Par 72, 6797-yard course.

Jared Slingerland and Junior Balogun rounded out the day for the Pride with scores of 85 and 92, respectively.
