Trinity Tops Women's Tennis, 7-2

Erin Woodbury Hartford, Conn. - October 8, 2009 - Erin Woodbury picked up a win at No. 4 singles but it was the Trinity College Bantams who went on to defeat the visting Springfield College women's tennis team, 7-2, in non-conference action Thursday afternoon.  Trinity improves to 1-0 on the fall season while Springfield falls to 1-6.

Trinity won two of three doubles matches and five singles matches, holding the Pride to just 17 points in their seven match wins. SC also picked up a win at No. 3 doubles as Beth Slotnick and Kristi Maltz won 8-4.

Springfield returns to action on Saturday afternoon when it hosts Wellesley. First serve is slated for 1:00 pm.
