Southern Maine Scores Twice In the Ninth To Rally Past Baseball, 5-4

Jamie Mackie Phoenix, Ariz. - March 20, 2009 - The Springfield College baseball team dropped its final contest of the RussMatt Greater Phoenix Invitational on Friday afternoon as it fell to Southern Maine, 5-4.

The Pride, which will open up conference play with a doubleheader at Wheaton on Sunday, are now 3-5 this season. Three of SC's five losses in the Invitational were by one run, one of those in extra innings, and another was by two runs in extra innings.

Holding a 4-3 lead heading into the ninth, Southern Maine used four doubles to in final inning to plate two runs en route to the 5-4 comeback victory.
