McAulay Named To 2009 IWLCA Division III All-Berkshire Region Second Team

Lauren McAulay Springfield, Mass. - May 22, 2009 - After a standout season between the pipes for the Springfield College women's lacrosse team, Lauren McAulay was selected to the 2009 IWLCA Division III All-Berkshire Region Second Team.

A Yorktown, N.Y. native, McAulay was terrific this season for the Pride as its goalkeeper. The junior netminder had a goal against average of 8.77 this season and a save percentage of 51.5%. She finished the year with 140 saves and was especially impressive as she limited opponents to just 29 goals on 86 free-position shots.

Her numbers on the national level were even more impressive as her save percentage and goal against average both ranked 17th best in the entire country.

The Pride finished the year with a 12-6 record and reached the NEWMAC Tournament Championship game before bowing out to Babson.

The IWLCA has honored 224 student-athletes in Division III with a selection on one of the All-Regional teams for 2009. These athletes are now eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-American teams, which will be announced on May 22. The IWLCA and US Lacrosse will honor the National All-Americans at the IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-American banquet on June 13, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza Valley Forge in King of Prussia, Pa.
