When a Springfield College Team Travels to Host School/Site
The majority of the teams at Springfield College have an athletic training student who travels with them. The students are usually juniors or seniors (on rare occasions, a sophomore) and are functioning as a First Responder. When our team arrives at your campus, the athletic training student will check in with the host ATC. The Springfield College Athletic Training staff thanks you in advance for providing athletic training services to our teams. The teams that travel with an ATC are Varsity Football, Junior Varsity Football, and Men’s Lacrosse. We will contact all host athletic trainers 24 hours in advance of the contest to inform them about the needs of our team traveling to their school.
The following list of teams that may not have a Certified Athletic Trainer or Athletic Training Student traveling with them:
- All Junior Varsity Teams except Football
- Tennis (men’s and women’s)
- Cross country (men’s and women’s)
- Golf
- Indoor Track & Field (men’s and women’s)
- Swim & Dive (men’s and women’s)
- Outdoor Track & Field (men’s and women’s)
In the absence of an Athletic Trainer, the teams have been given a first aid kit with wraps, taping supplies, and wound care supplies. The head coach will have athlete emergency information. Again, thank you in advance for your assistance.
