Two Student-Athletes Earn NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team Honors
Babson Park, Mass. – October 28, 2009 - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced its 2009 Women's Tennis Academic All-Conference Team on Wednesday and Springfield's Amy Shaw and Kristi Maltz were honored for their academic success.Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2009 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference consists of 10 highly selective institutions committed to academic excellence: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Head Coach Tim Losee
Tim Losee ’05, G’07 was named the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College in August of 2009. A former four-year member of Springfield’s men’s tennis team, Losee returns to his alma mater to pilot both the men’s and women’s tennis programs. Read more.
