

Complete ResultsAlbany, N.Y. – October 18, 2008 – The Springfield College women’s cross country team finished 12th out of a field of 24 teams from Divisions I, II, and III on Saturday afternoon at the 42nd Annual University at Albany Cross Country Invitational.
The Pride were once again paced by junior Amanda DiPaolo (Garrison, N.Y.) who finished 18th overall in a time of 18:30. Sophomore Lacey Cartier (York, Maine) was not far behind as she crossed the finish line in a time of 18:36 to claim 22nd.
Also scoring for Springfield were freshman Caitlyn Crosby (Yarmouthport, Mass.) in 56th at 19:11, freshman Michelle Mirti (Pompton Plains, N.J.) in 19:40 for 79th place, and grad student Kristyn Meade (Raynham, Mass.) in 20:01 for 97th.
Next up for the Pride are the NEWMAC Championships being held on November 1st at MIT.
Jim Pennington enters his 26th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2009-2010. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
