SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- May 16, 2008 -- The second day of the ECAC Division III Men's and Women's Track & Field Championships at Springfield College's Blake Track is now complete. Weather conditions today went from overcast when the competition started, to a light rain, to a heavy rain throughout the remainder of the afternoon.
Moravian with 57 team points is the 2008 ECAC Champion, with Brockport State second (47), and host Springfield third (40).

From a Springfield College point of view, sophomore Nikki Hay (Norwalk, Conn.) won the long jump and triple jump, and was named Co-Outstanding Female Performer of the Meet, along with Meghan Nolan of Geneseo State, who won the 1500 and the 5000. Springfield senior Ashley Palmer (Holyoke, Mass.) finished sixth in the 100 meter hurdle finals.

Jim Pennington enters his 26th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2008-2009. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
