Moore Picks Up Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week Honors
Springfield, Mass. - November 10, 2008 - After another standout game on defense for the football team on Saturday afternoon, Brenden Moore has been selected as the Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week. Moore, who hails from Jamesville, N.Y., had several big plays as the Pride as it picked up its first conference win of the year with a 45-31 victory over Hartwick this weekend.
The freshman posted eight tackles, including a sack for a loss of eight yards, as well as a crucial interception. Moore picked off Hartwick's Jason Boltus and returned it 45 yards for a touchdown with 2:09 remaining to seal the Pride's victory.

Head Coach Mike DeLong
Michael C. “Mike” DeLong ’74 enters his 27th season as a head football coach in the fall of 2008. He enters his 25th year at Springfield College alone. For the past 24 years (1984 through 2007, inclusive), he has been the head coach at Springfield, his alma mater. Mike had also been the head coach at Maine Maritime in Castine, Maine in 1979 and 1980. Read more.
