

Worcester, Mass. - October 31, 2009 - The Springfield College women’s swimming and diving opened up the 2009-2010 season with a thrilling victory at Holy Cross as it placed first and third in the final relay to win by a team score of 150.5 to 149.5.In the last event of the day, the Pride took first and third place in the 200 free relay to secure the team victory. The quartet of Kaitlin Reilly , Caroline Kosciusko, Jaclyn VanWaalwijk, and Aimee Doe took first in a time of 1:41.97. The third place team of Amanda Shaw, Teaghan Abrams , Molly Potter , and Kerry Lynch finished just :00.69 ahead of Holy Cross with a time of 1:45.91 to secure the victory.
Reilly finished with a strong day for the Pride, bringing home first place finishes in the 50 Free (25.61), the 100 Free (55.18), and the 100 Fly (1:01.10).
Doe also recorded a pair of victories in the 200 Free (2:01.53), and 500 Free (5:25.87) for Springfield.
On the diving boards, Michelle Reggio took first in the three-meter with a score of 257.18.
The Pride returns to action on Saturday, November 7 at 1:00 PM, as it hosts conference-foe Smith.
