

Box ScoreNEW LONDON, CONN.- November 1, 2008 -Senior Nate Wojcik scored a pair of goals leading Coast Guard to a 3-0 win over Springfield in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game, the regular season finale for both teams.
With the win, Coast Guard secures the fourth-seed and a home game in the NEWMAC tournament quarterfinals on Wednesday.
Wojcik scored on a header in the 37th minute with sophomore Matt Zangle assisting. Coast Guard (10-7, 3-3) would lead 1-0 at halftime.
Senior David O’Brien gave the Bears a 2-0 lead on a penalty kick in the 64th minute and just over two minutes later, Wojcik put the game away with his second goal of the game with junior Brandon McMillan assisting.
Coast Guard outshot Springfield 12-8.
Junior Tim Olah registered five saves to record his fifth shutout of the season while junior Kevin Leahy also had five stops for Springfield (6-9-2, 3-3), which will be on the road for NEWMAC quarterfinals on Wednesday.
