Headley Finishes Fourth in 100 Meter Dash in NCAA Championships

Headley-Close-Outdoors OSHKOSH, Wisc. - May 24, 2008 - Steve Headley completed his sensational sophomore year at Springfield College by finishing fourth in the 100 meter dash at the NCAA Championships on Saturday afternoon.

Running in lane four, the Wilbraham, Mass. native finished the race in a time of 10.75. The race, which was run into the wind, was won by Amaan Siddeeq of Cortland State in a time of 10.59.

Of the nine runners in the final, Headley was the only competitor who was not a senior or a junior in college. For his fourth-place finish, Headley garnered All-American honors.

Headley was seeded second heading into the final after crossing the finish line in a time of 10.59 on Friday evening.
