Women's Track & Field Ties For 10th At New England Championship

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Feb. 22, 2003 – Springfield College sophomores
Sarah Martin (Madison, N.H.) and
Jamie Bafaro (Mechanicsville, N.Y.) finished second and fouth, respectively, in the 55-meter hurdles to lead the Pride to a tie for 10th place out of 23 scoring teams at the Division III New England Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championship, hosted by Bowdoin College.
Martin finished in 8.98 seconds, while Bafaro was clocked at 9.04.
Junior All-American
Marisa Clapp (Charlton, Mass.) established a school record in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:58.39. Clapp, who placed third in the event, eclipsed the record she set last season of 2:58.80.
