Women's Track & Field Competes At MIT Co-Ed Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. February 15, 2003 - Springfield College sophomores
Sarah Martin (Madison, N.H.) and
Jamie Bafaro (Mechanicsville, N.Y.) finished first and second, respectively, in the 55-meter hurdles to lead the Pride at the MIT Co-Ed Invitational on Saturday.
Martin clocked a winning time of 9.05 seconds, while Bafaro was close behind at 9.16.
Freshman
Melissa Pannell (Valley Stream, N.Y.) logged a third-place finish in the high jump with a 5 foot, 1/4 inch (1.53 meters) performance. Junior
Suzie Snyder (Averill Park, N.Y.) lepts to a third-place finish in the pole vault with a height of 10 feet (3.04 meters). Freshman
Christina Davis (Orange, Conn.) also finished third in the shot put with a 37 foot, 7 1/2 inch (11.46 meters) toss.

Jim Pennington enters his 26th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2009-2010. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
