Women's Track & Field Competes At MIT Co-Ed Invitational
Complete ResultsCAMBRIDGE, Mass. February 15, 2003 - Springfield College sophomores Sarah Martin (Madison, N.H.) and Jamie Bafaro (Mechanicsville, N.Y.) finished first and second, respectively, in the 55-meter hurdles to lead the Pride at the MIT Co-Ed Invitational on Saturday.
Martin clocked a winning time of 9.05 seconds, while Bafaro was close behind at 9.16.
Freshman Melissa Pannell (Valley Stream, N.Y.) logged a third-place finish in the high jump with a 5 foot, 1/4 inch (1.53 meters) performance. Junior Suzie Snyder (Averill Park, N.Y.) lepts to a third-place finish in the pole vault with a height of 10 feet (3.04 meters). Freshman Christina Davis (Orange, Conn.) also finished third in the shot put with a 37 foot, 7 1/2 inch (11.46 meters) toss.

Head Coach Jim Pennington
Jim Pennington enters his 26th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2009-2010. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
