Griffin Represents Springfield College at NCAA Championships

Hanover, Ind. - November 22, 2008 - For the second straight year, Mike Griffin represented Springfield College as he raced in the 2008 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships this morning. The Scarborough, Maine native crossed the finish line in 25:54.15, placing 152nd out of 278 runners. The senior ran the 8k course with an average mile time of 5:12. Read More.

Mike Griffin Williamstown, Mass. – November 15, 2008 – Senior Michael Griffin qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships with his 10th place finish at the 2008 NCAA New England Regional Championships held at Mt. About The Team

Mike Griffin was named to the NCAA Division III All-Regional Cross Country team for the second straight year by finishing eighth of 330 runners at Harkness Park in Waterford, Conn. last November. He went on to compete in the NCAA Championships at St. Olaf Colege in Northfield, Minn.

The Pride has placed in the top three at 23 of 25 conference championships in which it has competed, winning seven team titles. The 2005 squad ran to a 17th-place finish (out of 43 teams) at the New England Regional Division III Championships, hosted by Springfield College.

Springfield College has received NCAA Division III Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team honors for eight of the last nine seasons. The award goes to teams that earn a cumulative grade-point average of 3.1 or higher.
