

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., February 18, 2006-The Springfield College men’s gymnastics team posted a 178.750 score to finish third in a quad-meet Saturday evening at Temple University’s McGonigle Hall.
First-place Stanford compiled 211.750 total team points, followed by host Temple’s 198.600 points. MIT finished the meet with 175.450 total team points to finish fourth.
SC sophomore Matt Davis (Southboro, Mass.) scored a team-high 7.700 in the pommel horse and 7.200 in the horizontal bar event, while freshman Ken Sloanhoffer (New Windsor, N.Y.) finished with a team-high 8.500 points in the vault.
The Pride returns to action February 26 at MIT in another quad-meet with Navy and Vermont.
Entering his 28th season as head men's gymnastics coach, Dr. Steve Posner is recognized as one of the most outstanding gymnastics coaches in the East.
