Women's Volleyball Ends Regular Season With 3-0 Win Over WPI
BoxscoreSPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Nov. 2, 2002 – Springfield College senior outside hitter Heather Schlitz (Huntington Station, N.Y.) registered a match-high nine kills and senior middle blocker Jaime Austin (Bedford, N.H.) totaled seven kills as the Pride defeated WPI, 3-0 (30-14, 30-13, 30-10), on Senior Day in Blake Arena.
Springfield (22-11, 6-3 NEWMAC), which totaled a .441 team hitting percentage and 22 service aces for the match, finished the regular season with its third-straight New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) victory.
The Pride will host a first-round game of the NEWMAC Tournament on Tuesday, November 5th, with time and opponent to be announced.

Head Coach Joel Dearing
Joel Dearing will enter his 21st season as head women's volleyball coach at his alma mater in the fall of 2009. Dearing is regarded nationally as one of the sport’s best coaches and he has the resume to prove it. Dearing ranks in the top-10 in Division III history with a 670-298 (.692) overall mark in 28 seasons as a women’s volleyball coach.
