Women's Volleyball Wraps Up Regular Season With 3-0 Sweep Of Babson College

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Oct. 28, 2004 - Springfield College senior outside hitter
Christine Jones (Wallingford, Conn.) totaled 17 kills and nine digs to lead the Pride past Babson College, 3-0 (30-8, 30-16, 30-13) on senior night this evening in New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women’s volleyball action in Blake Arena.
SC’s lone senior, Jones compiled a .577 hitting percentage in the final regular season home match of her four-year career, while junior All-American
Ashley Reves (Orchard Park, N.Y.) and sophomore middle blocker
Mary Kathryn O’Neil (Liverpool, N.Y.) followed with seven kills apiece.
Junior All-American setter
Alesia Vaccari (Winsted, Conn.) compiled 31 assists for the Pride (22-7, 6-2 NEWMAC).
Babson (6-23, 1-8 NEWMAC) junior outside hitter Keahn Gary had seven kills and four service aces for the Beavers.

Dearing is regarded nationally as one of the sport’s best coaches and he has the resume to prove it. Dearing ranks in the top-10 in Division III history with a 670-298 (.692) overall mark in 28 seasons as a women’s volleyball coach.
