Women's Volleyball Holds On, 3-2, Versus Wellesley

WELLESLEY, Mass., Oct. 26, 2004 - Springfield College senior outside hitter
Christine Jones (Wallingford, Conn.) was credited with 18 kills and a .417 hitting percentage to lead the Pride over Wellesley College, 3-2 (17-30, 33-31, 30-20, 29-31, 16-14) in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's volleyball action, Tuesday.
The win solidfied SC third-place in the conference standings as well as the third seed for the upcoming NEWMAC Tournament, which begins Tuesday (Nov. 2).
Junior opposite
Ashley Reves (Orchard Park, N.Y.) compiled 12 kills and 15 digs, while junior outside hitter
Mandy Chrusz (Gonic, N.H.) totaled a team-high 18 digs, to pace the Pride (21-7, 6-2 NEWMAC).
Springfield hosts Babson College on Thursday (Oct. 28) at 7 pm in Blake Arena in its final regular-season match of the season.

Dearing is regarded nationally as one of the sport’s best coaches and he has the resume to prove it.
