Women's Volleyball Blanks Smith, 3-0, In NEWMAC Action

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - Sept. 30 - Springfield College sophomore opposite Ashley Reves (Orchard Park, N.Y.) totaled a team-high 18 kills to lead the Pride to a 3-0 (30-26, 30-28, 34-32) win over Smith College in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's volleyball action.

With the win, Springfield (14-2, 4-0 NEWMAC) broke a two-match losing streak after opening the season with a school-record 13-straight wins.

The Pride returns to action this Friday and Saturday (Oct. 3-4) when it travels to Middletown, Conn. for the Wesleyan Invitational.

Joel Dearing Joel Dearing will enter his 21st season as head women's volleyball coach at his alma mater in the fall of 2009. Dearing is regarded nationally as one of the sport’s best coaches and he has the resume to prove it.
