MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Oct. 4 - Springfield College sophomores Ashley Reves (Orchard Park, N.Y.) and Alesia Vaccari (Winsted, Conn.) were named to the all-tournament team after leading the Pride to a 4-0 record and the Wesleyan Invitational Championship, Saturday.
On Friday, Springfield (18-2) defeated Amherst, 3-2 (28-30, 28-30, 30-23, 30-18, 15-12), and Wesleyan, 3-0 (30-20, 30-21, 30-27). On Saturday, SC defeated Trinity, 3-0 (30-26, 30-27, 32-30), and Smith, 3-0 (30-24, 30-14, 30-18).
In the final match versus Smith that clinched the tournament title, Reves and senior middle blocker Roxanne Breuler (East Haddam, Conn.) each totaled a match-high 11 kills, while Vaccari was credited with 21 digs.

Head Coach Joel Dearing
Joel Dearing will enter his 21st season as head women's volleyball coach at his alma mater in the fall of 2009. Dearing is regarded nationally as one of the sport’s best coaches and he has the resume to prove it. Dearing ranks in the top-10 in Division III history with a 670-298 (.692) overall mark in 28 seasons as a women’s volleyball coach.
