SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Sept. 3, 2004 - Springfield College junior setter
Alesia Vaccari (Winsted, Conn.) totaled seven kills, 12 assists, 11 digs and eight service aces to lead the Pride to a 3-0 (30-8, 30-28, 30-19) sweep of Rhode Island College in the first round of action at the Springfield College Women's Volleyball Invitational in Blake Arena.
The Pride also rolled to a 3-0 (30-11, 30-17, 30-16) win over Roger Williams in the second round as junior swing hitter
Ashley Reves (Orchard Park, N.Y.) and senior middle blocker
Christine Jones (Wallingford, Conn.) each tallied 12 kills in the victory. Vaccari added a match-high 18 assists as SC opened its 2004 campaign with two wins.

Head Coach Joel Dearing

Joel Dearing will enter his 21st season as head women's volleyball coach at his alma mater in the fall of 2009. Dearing is regarded nationally as one of the sport’s best coaches and he has the resume to prove it. Dearing ranks in the top-10 in Division III history with a 670-298 (.692) overall mark in 28 seasons as a women’s volleyball coach.
