Women's Volleyball Goes 2-2 At Volleyball Hall Of Fame Classic
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Oct. 25, 2002 – Springfield College senior outside hitter
Heather Schlitz (Huntington Station, N.Y.) registered 12 kills and 10 digs as the Pride defeated Tufts University, 3-0 (30-21, 30-22, 30-21), in first round action of the Volleyball Hall of Fame Classic in Blake Arena.
Springfield freshman setter
Alecia Vaccari (Winstead, Conn.) was credited with 44 assists for the Pride (19-9).
Tufts junior middle blocker Amy Cronin was credited with a team-high 13 kills for the Jumbos (17-10).

Springfield College senior outside hitter
Heather Schlitz totaled 22 kills and 25 digs, but Gordon College remained undefeated on the season (28-0), holding on for the 3-2 victory over the Pride in second-round action of the Volleyball Hall of Fame Classic.

Head Coach Joel Dearing

Joel Dearing will enter his 21st season as head women's volleyball coach at his alma mater in the fall of 2009. Dearing is regarded nationally as one of the sport’s best coaches and he has the resume to prove it. Dearing ranks in the top-10 in Division III history with a 670-298 (.692) overall mark in 28 seasons as a women’s volleyball coach.
