No. 22 Williams Downs No. 24 Springfield, 3-1, In NCAA Regional Final
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Nov. 15, 2003 – Williams College junior outside hitter
Robin Young (Andover, Mass.) totaled 16 kills and 18 digs to lead the No. 22 Ephs to a 3-1 (30-25, 30-26, 25-30, 30-22) victory over No. 24 Springfield College and the NCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball New England Regional Tournament Championship in Blake Arena.
Sophomore outside hitter
Annie Dennison (Portland, Ore.) registered a game-high 17 kills, while junior middle blocker
Joyia Chadwick (Lawrence, Kan.) was credited with 10 kills and 11 blocks for Williams (35-3), which advances to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Junior outside hitter
Christine Jones (Wallingford, Conn.) had 16 kills and 10 digs for Springfield (34-3), which had its school-record 21-game win streak broken with the loss. Pride sophomore opposite
Ashley Reves (Orchard Park, N.Y.), who added 15 kills and 16 digs, set a single-season school record in the match with her 592nd kill this fall.

Joel Dearing will enter his 21st season as head women's volleyball coach at his alma mater in the fall of 2009. Dearing is regarded nationally as one of the sport’s best coaches and he has the resume to prove it. Dearing ranks in the top-10 in Division III history with a 670-298 (.692) overall mark in 28 seasons as a women’s volleyball coach.
