Women's Volleyball Too Much For Clark, 3-0

WORCESTER, Mass., Sept. 21, 2002 – Springfield College senior Heather Schlitz (Huntington Station, N.Y.) recorded 20 kills to lead the Pride to a 3-0 win over Clark in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women’s volleyball match today.

Freshman Alesia Vaccari (Winsted, Conn.) added 14 digs and junior Erica Webster (Cheshire, Conn.) chipped in with six service aces for the Pride, which improves to 9-1 overall and 1-1 in the NEWMAC. Clark falls to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

Springfield College 3, Clark 0 (30-26, 30-12, 30-16)

Head Coach Joel Dearing

Joel Dearing will enter his 21st season as head women's volleyball coach at his alma mater in the fall of 2009. Dearing is regarded nationally as one of the sport’s best coaches and he has the resume to prove it. Dearing ranks in the top-10 in Division III history with a 670-298 (.692) overall mark in 28 seasons as a women’s volleyball coach. Read more.
