Ashley Reves (Orchard Park, N.Y.) compiled 15 kills and a sparkling .355 hitting percentage to lead the Pride to a 3-0 (30-17, 30-22, 30-15) victory over Wellesley College in a battle of the top two teams in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) in Blake Arena this evening.
Sophomore setter
Alesia Vaccari (Winsted, Conn.) was credited with 28 assists and eight digs as the Pride grabbed sole possession of first place in the conference with the victory.
Springfield senior middle blocker
Roxanne Breuler (East Haddam, Conn.) added eight blocks for SC (23-2, 6-0 NEWMAC), which remained a perfect 10-0 at home this season.
Freshman libero
Case Prager (Los Angeles, Calif.) led the Wellesley (10-11, 5-1 NEWMAC) defensive effort with a match-high 15 digs.

Head Coach Joel Dearing

Joel Dearing will enter his 21st season as head women's volleyball coach at his alma mater in the fall of 2009. Dearing is regarded nationally as one of the sport’s best coaches and he has the resume to prove it. Dearing ranks in the top-10 in Division III history with a 670-298 (.692) overall mark in 28 seasons as a women’s volleyball coach.
