NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass., Sept. 17, 2005 -- Springfield College senior
Meghan Young (Hurley, N.Y.) took second place to lead the Pride to an 11th-place finish at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational in North Dartmouth this afternoon (Sept. 17).
Young traversed the muddy, five kilometer course in 18:37. Freshman
Lara Dalidowitz (Southington, Conn.) came in 45th place followed by sophomore
Alyssa Brigham (Penacook, N.H.) (59th), senior
Jessie Zaccarro (Washingtonville, N.Y.) (94th), and junior
Jackie Knoblock (Plymouth, Mass.) (107th) rounded out the top five.
The Pride totaled 301 points to finish 11th in the 35-team field. Colby won the meet with 43 points, followed by Amherst (88) and Tufts (123).
SC travels to Williams College for the Williams Invitational next Saturday, September 24.

Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
