Women’s Soccer Upends Clark University, 2-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Oct 26, 2002 – Springfield College senior midfielder Bonnie Roberts (Belchertown, Mass.) scored the game winning goal right before halftime as the Pride defeated Clark University, 2-1, in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game this afternoon at Brock-Affleck Field.

SC freshman forward Amanda Nealon (East Falmouth, Mass.) netted the Pride’s first goal in the 28th minute. Clark forward Marannue Rawls-Philippe (Fairfield, Conn.) riffled a shot that deflected off of the cross bar and snuck past the SC goalkeeper a mere 17 seconds after Nealon scored.

Springfield College improves to 8-8 (5-3 NEWMAC) and Clark falls to 3-13 (1-6 NEWMAC) this season.
