Women’s Soccer Upends Clark University, 2-1
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Oct 26, 2002 – Springfield College senior midfielder Bonnie Roberts (Belchertown, Mass.) scored the game winning goal right before halftime as the Pride defeated Clark University, 2-1, in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game this afternoon at Brock-Affleck Field.SC freshman forward Amanda Nealon (East Falmouth, Mass.) netted the Pride’s first goal in the 28th minute. Clark forward Marannue Rawls-Philippe (Fairfield, Conn.) riffled a shot that deflected off of the cross bar and snuck past the SC goalkeeper a mere 17 seconds after Nealon scored.
Springfield College improves to 8-8 (5-3 NEWMAC) and Clark falls to 3-13 (1-6 NEWMAC) this season.

Head Coach John Gibson
John Gibson, a native of London, England, enters his 10th season as head women's soccer at Springfield College in the fall of 2009. Gibson has led the Pride to the NCAA Tournament in three of the last four years and has established the Pride as one of the top programs in the country. His clubs have registered an impressive a 110-56-14 record.
