Wesleyan Defeats Women's Soccer, 2-0

MIDDLETOWN, Conn., October 2, 2003 - Wesleyan University freshman forward Makenna Goodman scored twice in the first half as the Cardinals defeated Springfield College on Thursday, 2-0, in a non-conference match.

SC sophomore goalkeeper Christina Davis (Orange, Conn.) recorded five saves in the setback.

The Pride falls to 4-5-1 on the season, and will next be at home against MIT on Saturday, October 4, in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match.

Head Coach John Gibson

John Gibson, a native of London, England, enters his 10th season as head women's soccer at Springfield College in the fall of 2009. Gibson has led the Pride to the NCAA Tournament in three of the last four years and has established the Pride as one of the top programs in the country.
