Women's Soccer Falls To Fifth-Ranked Wheaton, 6-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., October 11, 2003 – Wheaton College senior forward Tracy Prihoda scored two goals as the fifth-ranked Lyons defeated Springfield College, 6-1, in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women’s soccer match this afternoon.

SC junior forward Jacqueline Landers (Niantic, Conn.) scored the lone goal for the Pride in the 51st minute of play off a feed from senior midfielder Laura Harwood (Longmeadow, Mass.).

Wheaton (13-1) freshman forward Maggie Falkenreck added a goal and an assist in the win for the Lyons, ranked fifth in the latest NSCAA Division III national poll.

Springfield sophomore goalkeeper Christina Davis (Orange, Conn.) saved five shots during the match.

The Pride falls to 5-6-2 on the season, and 2-1-1 in the NEWMAC. SC will next travel to Mount Holyoke on Tuesday, October 14, at 4:00 p.m.
