Women's Volleyball Drops a Pair at Nazareth Invitational

Rochester, N.Y. - October 3, 2008 - The Springfield College women’s volleyball team lost a pair of matches at the Nazareth Invitational on Friday evening.

For the first time in 2008, the Pride lost back-to-back matches and now stand at 14-4 on the year.

Despite winning the first two games in its opening match of the night against RIT, the Pride fell in five games, 14-25, 14-25, 25-20, 25-20, 15-7. Heather Lively led the way for Springfield in the loss with a team-best 18 kills.

In its second match of the evening, the Pride fell to the host Golden Flyers of Nazareth, 25-22, 14-25, 27-25, 25-23. Lively once again paced the Pride attack with 14 kills, while Sarah Lang-Rodean chipped in with 10 kills.

Springfield returns to action tomorrow when it wraps up play at the Nazareth Invitational with a pair of games. The Pride will play against Ithaca at 1:00 pm before taking on Brockport at 3:00 pm.
