Rob Mifsud: Wrestling
Rob Mifsud has been chosen Springfield College's Male Maroon Club Athlete of the Week (Dec. 3) after he led the wrestling team to a fourth-place finish this weekend at the Petrofes Wrestling Invitational.Mifsud, who hails from Somers, N.Y., won the 157-lb. weight class for the Pride. In a weight class with 25 participants, the junior picked up five victories to earn the title.
In his first matchup, Mifsud pinned Eric Levenseller from Johns Hopkins in 4:59 before winning by decision 9-2 over Mike Cole from Brockport. He then topped Matt Curly from Heidelberg, 13-5, en route to claiming the individual title.
The Pride returns to the mat on Wednesday when it travels to take on WPI at 7:00 pm.
