Wrestling Regains #1 Spot in New England; Jumps to 12th Nationally
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - December 11, 2006 – The Springfield College wrestling team has moved up yet another notch in the 2006-07 New England College Conference Wrestling Association Division III Coaches Poll.
SC is now ranked #1michael_delong@spfldcol.edu in New England Division III with its perfect 4-0 dual-meet record. The Pride is ranked #5 in the New England All-Division poll.
Nationally, Daryl Arroyo's troops have moved up four spots to #12, after having been ranked 16th this past week.
On the New England level, SC has been ranked as low as #3 (two weeks ago). Last week, it moved up to #2, and, based largely on its huge 44-6 victory over then #5-Norwich last Saturday, SC is now #1.
The Pride is off until it faces Cortland State and Williams at Cortland, N.Y. on Tuesday, January 9 at 12 noon.

Head Coach Daryl Arroyo
Former Springfield College All-American Daryl Arroyo will be entering his 20th season as the head wrestling coach at his alma mater in 2009-10. Under his tutelage, the Springfield College wrestling program has posted a 278-151-6 overall dual-meet record, good for an outstanding .646 winning percentage.
