

Ithaca Box ScoreRochester, N.Y. - October 4, 2008 - The Springfield College women's volleyball team got back to its winning ways on Saturday afternoon as it swept a pair of matches at the Nazareth Invitational.
The Pride opened up the day with a three-game win over Ithaca, 25-17, 25-23, 25-21 before downing Brockport in three games, 25-12, 25-20, 25-17.
Springfield was once again paced offensively by Heather Lively, who was named to the All-Tournament team for her efforts over the weekend in the Invitational.
In the three-game win over Ithaca, Lively was unstoppable as she pounded out a match-high 19 kills in just three games. Springfield's Sarah Lang-Rodean added nine kills in the win as well.
In its second match of the day, Lively recorded 16 kills in the victory over Brockport.
The Pride will next hit the court on Tuesday evening as it travels to take on local-foe Mount Holyoke. First serve is at 7:00 pm.
Joel Dearing will enter his 21st season as head women's volleyball coach at his alma mater in the fall of 2009. Dearing is regarded nationally as one of the sport’s best coaches and he has the resume to prove it. Dearing ranks in the top-10 in Division III history with a 670-298 (.692) overall mark in 28 seasons as a women’s volleyball coach.
