

Springfield, Mass. - December 1, 2008 - After a terrific start to her senior season, Corey Finch was recently honored as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.The Hanover, Pa. product has led the Pride to a 3-2 record to start the year. The senior co-captain is averaging a double-double through five games, netting a team-best 17.2 points per game to go along with a team-best 13 rebounds per contest.
Playing just over 32 minutes per game, Finch is shooting 53% from the floor, has gone 4-of-8 (50%) from beyond the arc, and has connected on 12-of-14 (85%) from the charity stripe. She has also recorded a team-high 16 assists this year.
In the season-opening win over Worcester State on Nov. 17, Finch set the tone for the year as she pumped in 25 points to go along with 15 rebounds. She has since recorded double doubles in Springfield's past four games. She netted 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds at Colby Sawyer on Nov. 19, before going for 13 points and 10 boards vs. Fitchburg State and 13 points and 15 boards vs. Middlebury in the Williams Tip-Off Classic on Nov. 22nd and 23rd. She most recently powered the Pride to victory over Williams on Nov. 25 as she tallied 17 points and added 13 caroms.
Entering her 19th season as head coach in 2009-10, Naomi Graves has directed her squads to an impressive 266-117 record (.695 winning percentage) since joining the Division III ranks in 1995. Graves has led the Pride to eleven post-season bids in the past 14 years, including five berths in the NCAA Division III Tournament in the past nine years.
