

Complete BracketsVestal, N.Y. - November 15, 2008 - On Saturday, the Springfield College wrestling team traveled to upstate New York to take on some very tough competition at Binghamton University's Brutes Open.
"This weekend we went up against some very tough competition," said head coach Daryl Arroyo. "I think our guys got some very good experience and it was good to get some tough matches under our belts. Ultimately, I think this weekend will make us better in the long run, especially as we prepare for the Doug Parker Invitational."
The Pride battled against some of the top competition in New England, with numerous Division I teams (12 of the 18) wrestling in the event.
Springfield will have its first home meet of the season this weekend as it hosts the Doug Parker Invitational on Saturday.
Former Springfield College All-American Daryl Arroyo will be entering his 20th season as the head wrestling coach at his alma mater in 2009-10. Under his tutelage, the Springfield College wrestling program has posted a 278-151-6 overall dual-meet record, good for an outstanding .646 winning percentage.
