Lively Continues To Garner Player of the Week Accolades For Second-Straight Week

Heather Lively Springfield, Mass. - October 6, 2008 - For the second-straight week, Heather Lively has been recognized as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Player of the Week and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Co-Player of the Week in women's volleyball.

The Royalston, Mass. native continued to power the Pride as Springfield went 3-2 on the week, including a 2-2 mark this weekend at the Nazareth Invitational in Rochester, N.Y.

In five matches over the week, Lively led the Pride with 82 kills, averaging 4.56 per game. She hit a sensational .398 for the week as she had just 10 errors on 181 attempts to go along with 10 digs and 15 blocks. She led the team with 92 points on the week.

Lively hit .448 as he picked up 14 kills in a win over NEWMAC-foe Clark during the week, before hammering out 19 kills in a five-game loss to RIT on Friday night. She also had a 14-kill, three-block performance in a loss to host Nazareth on Friday night. On Saturday afternoon, Lively led the Pride to two victories, recording 19 kills versus Ithaca in just three games, before notching 16 kills, hitting .556, in a sweep of Brockport.
