Welcome to the Office of Housing and Residence Life!
The Office of Housing and Residence Life has taken great care to provide students a living environment that is safe, healthy, and most of all, fun. Below, you will find some information about our residence halls, as well as important information regarding housing here at Springfield College.Residency Requirement – Springfield College is a residential college that is committed to the belief that there are numerous benefits to living in a college community. The College believes in the education of the whole person and regards the residential experience as an integral part of that education. For this reason, the College requires all full-time undergraduate students to live on campus for a minimum of three years unless the student:
- Is twenty-three years of age or older
- Is married
- Has dependent child
- Has been a veteran of at least two years on active military duty
- Is planning to live at home with a parent(s) or guardian and that home is within a sixty-mile radius
- Has lived on campus for three years at Springfield College or another college.

In most of the halls, students live in double rooms. In co-ed halls, students of the same sex occupy an entire floor or wing. Each residence hall has at least one common kitchen where students may cook or reheat food and several lounges for studying and relaxing.
Our rooms include:
- Shades or blinds (except for Gulick Hall)
- Rooms are supplied with an extra long (80”) twin-sized bed with a height of at least six to eight inches above the floor, a dresser, a desk, a desk chair, and closet space for each student
- Cable television hook ups, computer network access, and telephone/voicemail service
- Please be aware that halogen lamps are not allowed in student rooms as they pose a serious fire hazard.
- Microwaves are also not allowed in student rooms due to fire and safety regulations; however, all of our traditional halls and apartments have kitchens that are equipped with a microwave for students' use.
-
**Telephone service and individual voicemail are available in each room at no cost to students; however, students must provide their own touch-tone telephones. Students may want to check with their roommate before buying a phone to avoid duplication of phones in one room. Long-distance service is not provided by the College. Students may want to look into purchasing a phone card to make long-distance calls.
