 | As one of the first institutions of higher learning to offer a graduate program in rehabilitation counseling, Springfield College is an undisputed leader in the field of rehabilitation services. Through a sound, yet flexible, multidisciplinary combination of theory, practical skills, and clinical placements, our graduates emerge as highly competent, skilled rehabilitation counselors, specialists, and case managers. The curriculum, which has earned national recognition and accreditation, is designed to provide a broad orientation to the medical health, psychological, social, educational and vocational aspects of chronic illness, disability and impairments. Each student's program is individually designed depending on previous education and experience. Certification eligibility programs are designed for students at three levels of entry including those who have a bachelor's degree but no previous rehabilitation education or experience, or those who have a related bachelor's degree or a minor in rehabilitation services education with at least 18 hours of undergraduate-level coursework in specified areas. Programs not leading to certification eligibility are also available for persons who have at least two years of experience in counseling or a related degree.
