Out in the Field
Fieldwork, or taking your skills out of the classroom and into the world, is considered one of the most fundamental components of a Springfield College education. Students in the mathematics, computer and information sciences, and mathematics and computer technology programs learn not only the latest theories and applications, but are also offered real world work experiences in local companies, agencies, health care organizations, and schools.
Students in good academic standing are eligible for cooperative education assignments in their sophomore year. Typically, students will work an additional 10 to 15 hours per week on top of their academic responsibilities. A proactive student will have a wide array of opportunities to work during the summer months and semester breaks.
